…we continue to ignore the facts then how can the U.S. grow as a young nation in the world? For all of these reasons capital punishment of the mentally retarded should be stopped, and an alternate punishment should be enforced, such as time in a mental institute. Everyone, including the people on death row would be better off and American would finally have the weight of this injustice to society off of their shoulders.
