A Worn Path In the short story "A Worn Path" written by Eudora Welty, she talks about a journey that an old, under-educated, African American women named Phoenix Jackson takes. Phoenix has a great capability of understanding, and to accept the bad things that go on in her life. Welty also added other birds in this story. The birds helped to format the story to help the ready understand the life of the Phoenix.
