A group pojects aim, was to look at present and main issues and theories surronding gender in connection with the proposed idea that gender is a social construction. We were trying to look firstly at the most common theories amongst past and recent literature and at the major ways in which people view their gender and themselves in a gendered way. …we argue that gender is nothing more than a changing social construct whose relevance fades in the face of life experiences? If we and our children are to function in a world in which men and women are increasingly interacting and interdependent, then we have to stop thinking in stereotyped and divisive ways. The future of gender is marked by a decreased emphasis on difference and an increased emphasis on individual abilities, talents, and preferences.
