Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky on February 12, 1809 to Thomas and Nancy Lincoln. He was born in a one-room log cabin only 16 feet long and 18 feet wide. The war ended in April 1865 when Lee surrendered to Grant. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln went to a play at Ford's theater in Washington D.C. to celebrate the end of the war. Sadly, John Wilkes Booth, who was pro-slavery, assassinated Lincoln during the play.
