…gt;Straying outside the gender norms can be difficult, and at times dangerous. In pursuing sex reassignment, one stands to lose jobs, friends, and legal rights. Regardless, these are a small price to pay for that peace of mind most of us take for granted, and some will continue to pay it. Perhaps through a better understanding of gender dysphoria, society can become a friendlier place toward those who choose to think "outside the box".
