Anaysis of the movie emma

The movie was focused on how women lived their lives and how they were presumed to live it. There were many contracting characters in this movie. Frank Churchill, Miss Bates, Mr.& Mrs. Cole, Mr. Fairfax, Isabella, Emma Woodhouse, Mr. Woodhouse, Miss Smith, Mr. Martin, Mr. Nightly and Mr. Elton. …her days by attending social gatherings. Emma is a classic example of the role a woman was required to play in the society of her era. She had many ideas of what she might become and thought she had no use for a husband but in the end realized that a husband was largely defining of a woman in that time period. And socially she was not as highly regarded if she had no husband.
