My own experience suggests that such conditioning can be subtle, so subtle that one may not be aware of it immediately, or until one contacts others, from other cultural perspectives. The reason for this is that people from other and diverse backgrounds can present and suggest alternative ways of viewing even seemingly simple subjects. The value of human diversity is apparent, here as elsewhere.
