The Story of Mark Twain Samuel Clemens was born November 30th 1835, in Florida, Missouri. The night he was born Halley's comet appeared. He was born prematurely and his parents didn't expect him to live long. When he was growing up he was always in danger either with illnesses or drowning. When Sam was four years-old his family moved to Hannibal Missouri, a town on the Mississippi river. His dad opened a general store. Sam started
for about 10 years to earn more money. The other two girls lived with an aunt in Elmira, NY. By 1902, two of his daughters died. This made him angry and sad. Mark stayed busy writing about his own life. Then his daughter Jean died. He said "I'll shall never write anymore" and he didn't. Four months later on April 20, 1910 Halley's comet appeared again in the night sky. Samuel Clemens and Mark Twain died the next day.
