Noncompetitive Inhibitor- substance that prevents an enzyme from functioning, attach at some other place and distort active site so substrate cannot attach. 12. What is an acid? A base? An acid is a compound that donates H+ ions. A base is a compound that donates OH- ions or accepts H+ ions.
