…on the Status of Women in 1961. Eleanor Roosevelt was an inspiration to many of the discriminated people of the country. Her efforts in supporting equality paved a path for continued progress in many sectors including women and African Americans. I am personally grateful, as a woman, for her work in changing the perception of the role of a woman in the white house and for her bravery and commitment to empowering women of the world.
