…Europeans did not even consciously make the decision to treat Indians and Africans like beasts instead of people. They saw races that were different than they and therefore, below them and took that to mean that they could do whatever they pleased. America was the New World and whatever Europeans had to do to obtain the most value from it, they would do it because it was their right as more highly evolved white Europeans.
