Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice. In that statement, Robert Frost believes that the world will end in one of these two fates. The outward theme is, we will end from desire or hate. A sort of inward theme could be man's lack of control over nature. I think that is why this is one of Frost's poems where he does not come to a definitive conclusion or ending.
