Through different novels, there are different ways in which characters and settings can be introduced to the reader. This is caused by the way in which writers engage themselves in the writing of the texts or by the style in which the writer uses. If the writer were to only concentrate on the character construction, the reader would then get information on how the character acts and dresses, where as if the writer were to do the setting the writer would concentrate on how, for example the character passes through the "gloomy" halls.
