Gender stereotypes and movies are two popular variables that have proposed a numerous number of theories and arguments in the communication field. However, there is a considerable lack of research on the possible, existing relationships between these two variables. …is movie. Thus, it is proposed that movies, thus, play an important role in the construction and reinforcement of gender roles. This influencing property of movies is one played upon by producers and directors of movies as it is an important factor in movie attendance since people want to see movies that reinforce "reality" and imitate real life. However, this property of movies could also be a stepping-stone to change in "norms" and "acceptable" behavior.
