…half-dollar, quarter, dime and half-dime were composed of silver. A silver crisis caused the replacement of silver in quarters and dimes. The element silver is hard, lustrous and metallic like Chromium. Its melting point is higher than Cadmium just like Chromium. I have come to the conclusion that Chromium is suitable for coining. It has similarities to silver which was once used actually. Chromium is also durable and has a high melting and boiling point.
