Marriage: Any American's Right - defends gay marriage

There can be no doubt that in this day and age gay marriage is one of the most commonly debated subjects among Americans of all backgrounds. Those in favor of gay marriage being legally recognized believe it unconstitutional to deny any American's rights to marry; and those against it argue that permitting gays to marry would be an inexcusable violation of American and western history and tradition. Furthermore, the fact that President Bush is attempting to enforce an amendment banning gay marriage and make it unconstitutional is evidence that it is constitutional right now. Conclusively, after looking at gay marriage from a broader perspective beyond one's own personal beliefs, how can someone deny another their given right to marriage; their pursuit of happiness? <Tab/> <Tab/>
