An argument is made that without the diverse cultures that make up the north east, there would be a stagnant American spirit eerily reminiscent of Victorian Britain the epitomizes the South. 12A better ideal that represents the assimilation of the west, east, north and southern foreigners and cultures into America is pluralism, a much more tolerant and true American ideal.
