On the Role of Illegal Immigrants in Sustaining a Developed Society

The Asylum Seekers Bill, passed earlier this month, focussed heavily on differentiating between 'genuine' refugees who have come to Britain in fear of their lives and 'bogus' immigrants only interested in the economic benefits that Britain can provide. …have limited aspirations; an oppressive society where aspiration is quashed; or a listless society where aspiration in citizens is encouraged but not facilitated and non-citizens are an economic necessity. If Britain's two-tier democracy comprised of citizens and non-citizens is unacceptable then we need some solution to the requirements of the capitalist hierarchy. Aspiration breeds frustration but servitude and oppression lead to hopelessness, which dehumanises us. It is in our nature to dream of better things.
