Personal View on Berkley's Theory of Human Knowledge.
Idealism is the philosophical system developed by an Irish philosopher George Berkeley (1685-1783). Being an Idealist means that he believes that physical objects - like matter - do not exist independent of the mind. According to Berkley, the pencil that I am writing this essay with would not exist if I did not perceive it with my senses. Berkeley attempts to show that things can and do exist apart from the human mind and our
unknown to us, maybe forever. That force just might be lurking around outside our senses, in some different dimension. Nevertheless, one can not completely dismiss Berkleys' views, for as Montague would say, there is obviously more going on than meets the eye. The last question that I ask myself is who or what is god? I believe that if that could be answered, a lot of our disputes about religion and philosophy would be resolved.
