Prejudging based on appearance in the film The Usual Suspects.
In the movie, The Usual Suspects, directed by Bryan Singer, five men suspected of hijacking a truck filled with guns are brought together by the police for questioning. The five ex-cons, Michael McManus, Dean Keaton, Fred Fenster, Todd Hockney, and Roger "Verbal" Kint are the main characters in this film. Brought together via unusual circumstances, the five become co-workers, and plan out several "jobs" together. The main goal of this movie is to show the
car, and suddenly Verbal's limp is gone. The movie The Usual Suspects illustrates how underestimating someone based on physical appearance can come back to haunt people. The physically handicapped character named Verbal in the movie uses his handicap to make people think less of him in order for him to get away with things, completely unquestioned. It is for this reason that the movie shows that prejudging anyone based on their appearance can be detrimental.
