Bacteria and other organisms may produce UTI. Women, perhaps because of their shorter urethras, are much more susceptible to UTIs than men. Pechthogens can sometimes be 'flushed' from the system by having the individual drink large quantities of water. Rersistent symptoms of UTI should be treated by a physician.
