Many companies are leaving their main country of operation because of increased labor costs, government regulations, and taxes imposed on them in the United States and other industrial nations. The MNC's are attracted to lower developing or third world nations because the labor is cheap, the government is easily bribed off, and the power that they can wield in the country is greater than what they could have in an industrial nation. …Shell over the years in Nigeria should have been providing more support to the people of Nigeria, and not just thinking about the share holders. Many people would argue that Shells interference with Nigerian society and government would be a violation of Sovereignty. Shell just standing by and not caring about anything about the shareholder is wrong and should have been fixed very early before Shell had put the environment, social, and economy at danger.
