…he was forced to finally make, as the situation with Candy's feeble old dog foreshadowed the final tragedy. The film-making is adequately simple, not allowing for the story to be overdone by a contemporary artificial interpretation or technical stunts and leaving room for Steinbeck's original story to shine. Sinise has produced this film brilliantly with the help of solid characters, superb acting and a poignant story you will be bound to fall in love with.
