Pearl Harbor Japan needed to get trough the Pacific with ease so that their plans of an invasion of North America would be successful. In the eastern zone, the British and Canadians landed on the beaches GOLD, JUNO and SWORD. The Americans landed on two beaches in the west which were UTAH and OMAHA. This was the last major battle for the allies in WWII and showed Hitler that he could not win the war.
