…This book took a look at how the world was changing and how the women in it changed their roles to accommodate the world. The Waiting Years told a story of a very traditional Japanese woman and the struggle she went through to keep her family together. The book showed how much power a woman had in a Japanese family. It also showed the enormous amount of sacrifice that a woman had to go through.
