If I should die, think only this of me: That there's some corner of a foreign field That is for ever England. There shall be In that rich earth a richer dust concealed: These are the first four lines of Rupert Brooke's poignant sonnet, "The Soldier". "The Soldier" is a poem about death in war. This does not glorify war, but only shows that dying in war is a proud thing to do for your
distressing. Brooke probably knew that he could become like this, so the poem he wrote most likely showed his feelings. Fortunately, he did not end up like this but died because of a disease. This can also be linked to "The Soldier" in lines 9 and 10 since both are about death. This poem and these pictures show us that whatever we do, we should always try our best, and all that war leads to is death.
