…started almost immediately after the assassinations. The pendulum swings from liberal to conservative about every thirty years; sociologically, this is not an unusual thing. This matters to me personally since I'm gay. I am just waiting for that pendulum to swing back to liberal. I think that just as Archduke Ferdinand's assassination was instrumental in starting a World War, it could be said that the assassination of Harvey Milk started the conservative war on homosexuality.
