My annotated bibliography focuses on the tabloidisation of the media, in particular the news media of Britain and the United States as they are most often discussed and are commonly perceived as the most tabloidised. Academic author Bird gives another historical exploration of how tabloids came about by linking their beginnings to ancient folklore and urban legends. She
keep a slice of the media audience so that newspapers had to become more competitive by employing several tactics that go with tabloidisation. These tactics included running more content, inventing new and different newspaper sections and marketing much more vigorously. Tabloidization is one of the changes that occurred to get the public's attention, to be cost effective and to fill space. The author looks at how tabloid newspapers began to triumph over the established media.
