…a minute. Finally after 3 tiring days he was out of the Dutch territory. He got off the train at the capital of Portuguese east Africa and immediately went to the British Consulate. There he enjoyed a hot bath, a good dinner and told the world of his escape using the telegraph. After that he returned to the British territory. A cheering crowd greeted him at the Dock at Durban. His escape made him a hero.
