…to us, we don't care. Kurt Vonnegut uses this parallel to add another touch to the anti-war element of "Slaughterhouse-Five". Vonnegut makes a clear statement for how sick and disgusting war is. Governments have conflicts, people die, and then everybody just forgets about it. Then the whole process happens over again, and more innocent lives are lost. Vonnegut is telling us to learn from our bloody mistakes and resolve problems before they escalate into war.
