Trench Warfare in WW1

Trench Warfare World War I brought with it a style of warfare so barbarous that it ultimately benefited no one, yet scarred those involved for life. This scarring is quite evident from accounts of those present during the war, when trenches were the supreme defense. …for they were there and could recount accurately the true story, not what the propaganda posters and politicians preached. Thirty-seven million people died in that abominable war. Yet what did it solve? Conflict didn't end, people were still oppressed, and nations still competed for control of other countries. The soldiers would not agree to this statement as they rose and climbed out of the trenches; they had survived and would live to see another day.
