In the 1930's, change was a key part of the USSR, as radical changes were taking place in every aspect of peoples lives. In this essay, I will be looking at the extent of the changes that Stalin imposed on the USSR. The driving force behind all of the changes taking place in the USSR was the second revolution or 'the revolution from above', where instead of the population revolting, the top of the hierarchy
to know nothing else and help strengthen the USSR. The extent of this change could in theory have gone on infinitely if they had chosen to keep this scheme after Stalin's leadership, as school children could have gone on learning solely science and technology and continually develop ideas about how to improve the country. So Stalin did make many large scale changes during the 1930's some with immediate effect, others with more long term gains.
