"We have gone too far." Is this a fair statement about our progress in biotechnology?

The word "biotechnology" was introduced in 1919 by a scientist, Karl Ereky, in showing Man's interaction with biology using modern technology. We live in a world where science is advancing so rapidly that it seems unstoppable. Developments in biotechnology have sparked off many controversial debates, and until now, many of these issues have yet to be resolved. …wrong hands. Just like in any debate, there are two sides to the argument on biotechnology. Albert Einstein once said, "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal." Any beneficial tool will have its side effects. Have we gone too far? I should think that this question lies in our ability to put this newfound technology to good use, for the greater good of Mankind, and not to our disservice.
