Why Thoreau's ideas in Walden are useless in the twenty-first century

People at one time or another have most likely wondered how life would be if they had to live without such things as a computer or a cell phone. They probably would think that it would be impossible to continue living, which is absolutely correct. All of these things combined destroy all of Thoreau's beliefs if he were to try and push them on the people of the twenty-first century.
