Yalta Conference

With World War II coming to an end, a change in policy and mindset by the world powers was marked by a conference set on the coast of Yalta, Crimea in the Ukraine. Although the United Nations plan was not ratified by congress in 1945, the American people greeted the end of the war with a sense of great relief. Unfortunately, the agreements made at Yalta proved fickle and two years later the Americans would be preparing for war against the Soviet Union. Americans were greatly disappointed by this realization and felt contempt and distrust for their government.
